Inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Wind, Sand and Stars:

“The magic of the craft has opened for me a world in which I shall confront, within two hours, the black dragons and the crowned crests of a coma of blue lightnings, and when night has fallen I, delivered, shall read my course in the stars.”

I Shall Read My Course in the Stars is an original abstract sumi-e painting created with ink, water, brush, and spaciousness. Sweeping dark forms move across the paper with a sense of flight, night, weather, and passage, evoking the mystery of navigating through darkness toward a more luminous orientation.

Part of my Meditations in Ink series, this work reflects my continuing interest in gesture, silence, and the expressive power of black ink on white paper. The painting invites quiet attention and personal discovery, allowing each viewer to sense their own path through the movement of the ink.
