Blue Mountains at First Light

Blue Mountains at First Light
Watercolor mounted on wood panel
8" × 8"

Morning gathers quietly over layered blue ridges as the first warm light rises above the mountains. In this small watercolor, Marilyn Wells uses soft layers of blue, mist, and moving birds to evoke the shifting distances of first light.

This small watercolor is part of my Blue Mountain Memories series, where mountain forms become less a literal place than a remembered feeling — atmosphere, distance, stillness, and light.

Mounted on a wood panel, ready to display.

A small painting for anyone who loves mountains, morning light, and the feeling of open distance.
